PHQ-9 depression score reduction at 6 months — Mental Health & Psychosocial Support M&E Indicator
Percentage of clients showing a clinically significant reduction (≥5 points) on the PHQ-9 (Patient Health Questionnaire-9 — a free, 9-question depression screener developed by Pfizer/Columbia, validated in over 100 countries including India) at 6 months versus baseline. PHQ-9 score 0-4 = no/minimal depression, 5-9 = mild, 10-14 = moderate, 15-19 = moderately severe, 20-27 = severe. Recommended by WHO mhGAP as the primary depression screening tool in low-resource settings
